Latest Updates from Our Project:

Batters On Deck
over 7 years ago – Tue, Dec 06, 2016 at 07:12:29 PM

Greetings ball gamers,

It’s the first Tuesday of the month, and that means it’s time for a production update!

We’ll keep this short and sweet. We don’t have too much to tell everyone since the last update - it’s pretty much business as usual around here, giving Adam time to work on the final pieces of art, and getting the rulebook wrapped up and fully edited. We’ll be sure to let you all know when everything is processed and we have our first set of digital proofs from the factory.

In the meantime, here are some more sneak peeks at some of the awesome cards in the expansion! These two batters show off a new trait, On Deck. This trait activates when that batter is On Deck - meaning up next to bat. This new trait adds even more strategy to setting your lineup!

Until next time, Happy Holidays and Happy Gaming!

More From Your Pitchers
over 7 years ago – Tue, Nov 01, 2016 at 08:38:42 PM

Greetings ball gamers!

It’s the first Tuesday of the month, and that means time for an update. We’re still working diligently behind the scenes to get everything complete and into production by the end of this month. We’re almost there! Once we receive some final art revisions from Adam we’ll be sure to post some more teasers while full physical production is in full swing.

Until then, fans of Bottom of the 9th have noted that card numbers 19 and 20 were missing from the base game; well, those weren’t really missing but held off until we got them right. Everyone, Clubhouse will now come with cards 19 & 20, the Hitting Pitchers!

These pitchers can be used in your line-up to represent your pitcher at bat (being there currently are no Designated Hitters in Bottom of the 9th). Furthermore, the Hitting Pitchers will be customizable by you!

We have 1 hitting pitcher that is perfect for a normal game of Bottom of the 9th, and the other that can be put in for Extra Inning games! As you can see, the Hitting Pitchers are slightly weaker hitters, but so are the pitchers at bat in the National League (well, most of them, sorry Clayton Kershaw).

Pitcher #20 - If this pitcher reaches base, then the current pitcher Fatigues twice out of embarrassment that they let a pitcher reach base… even if they are walked!

Pitcher #19 - This pitcher’s trait is perfect for Extra Inning games, giving the pitcher additional relief when they return to the mound.

We’ll be back with more Clubhouse goodies soon. Until then, enjoy the rest of the World Series, and happy gaming!

All the best,
Chris, Darrell, and Mike

* These cards are still in the editing/testing process.

Peanuts, Production, and Address Problems
over 7 years ago – Tue, Oct 04, 2016 at 10:01:51 PM

Greetings ball gamers!

It’s the first Tuesday of the month, and that means it’s update time! First up, as far as production is concerned, all art assets are complete and we are working hard to wrap up multiple rounds of copy editing and double-checking player cards, equipment cards, and the rulebook.

Last update we talked a bit about how equipment works, and showed a sneak preview of a couple of players that had dedicated equipment they could - or had to - use during a game. Some pieces of equipment, like the Rosin Bag, have a limited amount of uses, so players will receive a number of peanuts equal to the uses of their various purchased bits of equipment. As for the peanuts - well, you can check out the awesomely-chunky production samples of them below.

Peanuts are great at a ball game, and especially so in Bottom of the 9th when you need them to power up your awesome equipment. Thus, in some games, players might want to ask Harry M. Stevens Concessions for the best peanut vendor in the business - Trevor Schaf-Kopf.

THE FULL LINE-UP

So, in addition to peanuts and peanut venders, we thought you’d all like a sneak peek at the full line-up of players and support personnel you’ll be getting with the Clubhouse Expansion! Feel free to let your imaginations run wild, and don’t hesitate to speculate about backgrounds, abilities, and anything else in the comments.

BACKERKIT QUESTIONS

There have been many, many questions about when BackerKit will be unlocked so that you all can update your addresses. That will be later today! We will leave BackerKit unlocked for as long as possible so that you all can update your shipping addresses right up until just before delivery. We’ll be sure to give you a heads up before we lock things down again.

That about wraps it up for this update. We’ll just mention quickly that if you have questions that you’ve sent via Kickstarter or KS comments and they haven’t been addressed in a timely manner, you can always send an email to [email protected] and we’ll take a look. Thanks again for the support, and we’ll be back soon with more as we move into full physical production!

All the best,
Chris, Darrell, and Mike

Production Update and Some Teasers!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Sep 06, 2016 at 09:03:38 PM

Greetings ball gamers!

We’re here today with our traditional “first Tuesday of the month” update to let you know about production progress and provide you with a teaser or two!

First off, graphic design and pre-press work is pretty much complete, we are just waiting on a handful of the final card illustrations from artist Adam McIver. Panda has been working on samples of the wooden peanuts for us and we should have some photos of those to show off before too long!

In the meantime, how about a preview of some more cards? As you all know, the Clubhouse Expansion introduces equipment that can be used with your team. Most equipment has a cost, and each team starts with a budget of $1400 that they can spend. Some players come with equipment for free, such as Donner Reinhart and her Hickory Bat, while others won’t play without a certain piece, like Brent Jackson and his Rosin Bag, which must be incorporated into your budget. Ultimately, it’s up to you how you mix and match players and equipment to create the best team!

That’s it for today but we’ll back soon with more info. and sneak peeks! Happy gaming!

Locking Down Surveys + Executive Suites Backers Shipping
almost 8 years ago – Fri, Jul 08, 2016 at 11:39:38 PM

Greetings Backers!

This is just a really quick update about two things!

1) We will be locking down and charging pledges next week for everyone!

2) For Executive Suites backers, your first shipment, containing the original Bottom of the Ninth game and associated expansion and promo items, is about to ship! Make sure that you have responded to your BackerKit survey, and have input the correct address. We'll be locking down addresses for you as well the beginning of next week. If you wind up moving between this shipment and the final shipment, don't worry! We'll unlock addresses after we ship this wave.
